I was a long time customer of cable television but when I moved to the country it was not longer available. Luckily I still had an option, satellite tv. I signed up with Dish Network at www.dishnetwork.com Of course all of the installation, equipment and start-up was free, plus I received a credit to go towards my bill. The technicians came out and quickly and effectively installed the equipment in my home. Also, if you move, you just take your equipment with you and they will come over to your new house and hook it up.
I opted for the basic local channels plus more, a total of more than 100 channels. I later upgraded to a few premium channels because it was only slightly more per month and then I would be able to see Sopranos and now Weeds, two shows that you do not want to miss ! Dish Network also has an On-Demand option, so if they are playing a movie that I want to see I can order it instantly over my remote. This is very convenient and I get to see movies that I would not normally have the opportunity to see.
I have now had Dish Network for 5 1/2 years and I have only had to call customer support twice during this time. Both times they were able to quickly help me solve my problem over the phone using the remote. Once I had an equipment problem. My child threw the remote off of the top balcony, and Dish Network sent me a new one and a prepaid return label to send in the old one. I could not be happier with the service.
Compared to my former cable provider, Dish Network is never down. The only time my Dish Network does not work is for a little while after a heavy snow. It has been so long that I have now forgotten what it was like when I had cable and the service would go out on a regular basis. There is another service provider in my area that provides me with internet. They would like me to switch my television service, but I will not do it because I see that they are not that good at the service they provide. Dish Network knows how to provide good service and that is what they do. Dish Network is the most reliable satellite service that I know of. I will stick with them.
